St. George Orthodox Church of Spring Valley is a parish community of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America, under the authority of His Eminence Metropolitan SABA of New York, and Bishop ANTHONY of the Diocese of Toledo and the Midwest.
St. George was founded by Lebanese immigrants, and we are proud of our Middle Eastern heritage. Today, however, we have a unique calling as the sole Orthodox Church in the Illinois Valley and surrounding area. We are a multi-ethnic community, happy to serve all local Orthodox Christians and those interested in Orthodoxy.
Our Parish Mission
Called by Christ to provide hope to the world, we serve people seeking truth with a loving community and the worship of the original Christian church.
Our Parish Vision
St George strives to be a growing community of believers of all ages, sharing frequent worship services, Christian education, a culture of giving and stewardship, and support to our neighbors.
